Rate of Pay: $8.00/Hour
Shift: Full-time, Seasonal Position
Four-Five shifts per week 8 am - 5 pm
Monday through Sunday
MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS
SUMMARY
Operates gasoline, diesel, or electric lifts which transport skiers, patrons and equipment up slope or mountainside utilizing excellent customer service skills and ensuring safety.
Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must be able to safely ski/snowboard to and from your work stations (at an intermediate level) and provide your own equipment.
Must meet the minimum safety requirements of the law.
Provide safe and efficient loading, transporting, and unloading of guests onto and off the lift.
Ability to diplomatically handle awkward situations which may develop.
Controls lift machinery to start, stop, and adjust speed of lifts such as rope tow, chair lift, T-bar, or J-bar to provide a safe and fun environment.
Checks ski passes and pictures for skiers and snowboarders.
Collects or punches valid lift tickets for passengers.
Turns in expired or invalid passes and detains patron, referring situation to lift foreman, supervisor or mountain manager..
Assists skiers of all ages and all levels, on and off the lift and instructs them in safety procedures.
Observes patrons boarding/exiting lift to ensure safety.
Test, repair, and maintain motor and lift equipment as directed by supervisor or manager..
Must be able to handle extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
Must be able to assist guests to their feet or in and out of chairs as needed.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:
All aspects of the Personal Appearance Policy (spl#50) must be complied with.
All operators are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
All clothing must be unwrinkled, clean and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
Proper footwear for your activity as an operator is required. No sandals or open-toed shoes are allowed.
Sundance-issued hard shell and soft shell jackets (or optional approved jacket, i.e. North Face/Marmot puffy we decide on) shall be worn when appropriate.
T-shirts (short or long sleeved) must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
Sundance logo sweatshirts are permitted.
Navy or black shorts for warmer days are allowed.
Black snow pants are required to be worn when appropriate.
Sundance logo or a plain (no logo) baseball cap is permitted: beanies are okay.
Any type of glove to protect from the elements of being outside is allowed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer service experience in the ski industry is preferred but not required.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
